RE: Water Heater Plug

What make of water heater do you have, Suburban (uses anode 1 1/16 socket) or Atwood (no anode, nylon plug)?

RE: No 12 volts lights

Check your battery disconnect. Make sure it is turned on. Cycle it, that is turn it off then back on. Listen for relay to energize.

RE: fluorescent light - Odd issue with all of them

Are they Thin Lite brand? They have had problems with ballasts. I would call your coach maunfactuer not dealer and see if they will authorize a local mobile tech to replace fixture s or troubleshoot. It could be a problem in the wiring. It may be a broken or loose ground placing the fixture ballasts in series. This would be hard and time comsuming to track down. I am not sure if you would want to try it or not as you said the rig is under warranty. It would entail disconnecting each fixture and testing each ground back to the DC distribution panel. You may open the DC distribution panel and check for loose connections. It could be there.

RE: Electrical service for large class A...220 or 110?

Never use the word "never"! You may get a new rig later with a 240 washer/dryer, big 240 heat pump or a big battery charger for your electric powered MH. I would run a new 120/240 four wire fifty ampere circuit.

RE: Electrical service for large class A...220 or 110?

Toolman: You are incorrect. Thirty ampere shore power is 120 three wire. Fifty ampere is 120/240 four wire. Bulldogs1: You are endangering over loading your neutral by parallel same phase of 120 volt to rig.

RE: Problem Covers

My ADCO Aqua Shed did wonders on saving exterior of my coach. Covers must be sized correctly and put on right. Protect sharp corners. I have Max covers over vents that aid in cover working. My problem arose when it got hit by a large limb. Nothing could have stopped damage. Cover did reduce interior damage. That cover lasted for nearly 7 years.

RE: fluorescent light - Odd issue with all of them

Get a set of new tubes and try in one fixture. If it cools down move to another. Tubes start breaking down and need more power to keep operating.

RE: Relocate junction box?

Is this mounted to the floor of the living area or in a compartment? The 4 square box in a compartment can be moved with out any problem. A box on the inside needs to have pre-cautions on relocating. Protection of wiring. Can't believe it was mounted on floor to start with.

RE: Electrical service for large class A...220 or 110?

A larger rig with a fifty ampere shore power requires a 120/240 four wire system. Most rigs do not have any 240 volt appliances or equipment.

RE: Check Engine Light came on

"Limp mode" is a default program that allows the vehicle to "limp" to a repair shop.

RE: Side light not working after water pump re-wire

Did you get a ground? If you have a pump control module, then the light is trying to work through it. Most pump control module uses the ground as control for the pump on indicator. It can't be used as ground for anything else.

RE: Finding RV Parks while on the Road

I have the Trailer Life directory paper copy, however my good navigator(Granddaughter) uses the Trailer Life Directory software with our GPS on laptop. Another is Laptop running Microsoft streets and trips with GPS. S&T uses the Woodall's locations.

RE: Check Engine Light came on

RE: Check Engine Light came on

Schucks in your area should have code reader to check for error codes.

RE: Side light not working after water pump re-wire

TankerDude's post link says your ground is black on a two wire black and white system? Ground in that application is normally the white. What did they do to correct the wiring problem with the pump?

RE: Side light not working after water pump re-wire

Do you have an volt-ohm meter? How is light controlled? Switch inside or out? Power to switch? Power leaving switch? Check to see if it is the ground or hot leg that is bad by using ohm meter.

RE: Roof marker lights not working?

Look for another marker light outage. Side markers or second element in the turn signal housing. Have you checked for power in socket? What about ground?

RE: Most oppressive RV laws...which state?

Some states place a camping surcharge on out of state campers. Memory is bad, but I believe Wisconsin, Michigan and New York that I went through this past summer had them.
